Hope and Pray it is a sobering, thoughtful time for all of us to reflect on human frailty and the need to love, respect and care for all our neighbours - immediate, those in our community, our village, district, state, nation and the world - and to treat everyone with equal respect and care, no matter what their religion, race, caste, gender, sexual orientation, social status or financial prowess.
Last year, this time, at Easter a band of barbaric religious fundamentalists, driven crazy by obscurantist, perverted religious beliefs bombed a church in Sri Lanka, killing more than 250 innocent people and impeding the nation's progress. World over, countless honest, upright people are killed by the demented followers of all religions who do not understand what their religion advocates and stands for.
This year began with avaricious projections and prognostications prophesying how humankind will use Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, 5G, Crispr Editing and Self Driving Cars to scale new heights.
Then a tiny germ upended our lives.
Machine Learning gave way to our learning being reduced to how to wash our hands properly in 20 seconds and how to make face masks as the richest nations which have spent trillions and billions on wars were grappling with lack of personal protection equipment for their healthcare workers who were selflessly engaging in fighting a Goliath without any or few, even stone-age, equipment. If anything, a minuscule microbe has taught us that nobody is powerful - no individual, no nation, no science, no technology, no one religion - but it is human compassion and care as exemplified by selfless healthcare workers, farmers, public servants, grocery assistants - who help us in our hour of desperate need and provide our sustenance.
All 7 Billion Plus Fellow Travellers are equal.
Let us redesign our lives, customs and modus operandi to ensure that we travel together peacefully on this rock of ours till we reach our inevitable destiny.
Wish you a Percipient Easter.
